It has been a while.

I really need to update this more often. Now that I am working for a new company, it should be quite a bit easier.

For now: Ignorance at its finest.

success... [Feb. 19th, 2007|11:09 am]
We finally moved the washer and dryer to their final resting place. After a quick trip to Lowes, the two items became functional and prepared to do laundry. Lori and I have officially moved in. It has been a long two week process, but well worth it.

I had always tried to keep my life very simplistic in terms of "stuff". "Stuff" always will need to be moved. The less "Stuff" one has, the exercise of moving "stuff" becomes the least. I don't like moving although I have run across someone on Craigslist that does. It was a father and son who showed up to help move the heavy items from Lori's place. The first thing out of the father's mouth was that "My son has been practicing alot and is quite good at moving heavy things." Such high aspirations for his son. They did a good job, all things considered. Lori and I definitely could not have moved the items ourselves.

Anyhow. The unpacking process is well underway and it is feeling more and more like a home.

I couldn't be happier with Lori, despite a couple differences in points of view, we both survived. We not only survived but we are now aware of how we both operate mentally. I am very fortunate (lucky some would say) to have her.

My Boss thinks I am incompetant.
Evidentally experience is not an equivelant to a degree in the IT sector to the Boss.
My job is functional, software specific and quite the specialized field.
So instead of wanting me to progress with more specialized training in the environent, the Boss would like to see me regress back to the general education of basic computer science and development.
No.
I refuse, adamantly.
The plans are now in motion.
I will stick with what I am doing because I really do enjoy it. They will pay a grand a day for more specialized training. While I do this form of education, not only will I become much more marketable in this field, but it will also provide a level of stability to Lori during her formal education ambitions. This company will also send me to the formal education facilities, I just don't think it is wise of me to take steps backwards at this point in my career. I would also prefer to not be doing the school thing at the same time as Lori.

As like everything else does in life, this too, shall pass, and I will have learned from my decisions.

Outback doesn't have the crawfish appetizers on their menu anymore. I am glad this was the most disappointing item of discussion the other night when Lori and I went to dinner with her parental units. I had only met them one time prior to asking for her hand. I had every intention of speaking to both her parents before hand, but that Thursday had a different idea for me.

The course of events for that day were as follows.
1. Pick up ring.
2. Get inspection on car.
3. Talk to her Mother and Father.
4. Pick up sushi.
5. Propose.

This is how it actually went.
1. Get pulled over by a Harris County Sherrif for expired inspection sticker on the way to pick up the ring.
2. Dispute with the officer as to what the ticket was actually written for. He pulled me over for the inspection sticker. He told me this immediately upon asking for my license and proof of financial responsibility...I assumed he was asking for my insurance card, I assumed right. He handed me the ticket and it was written up for speeding. 20 minutes later I was back on my way to pick up the ring.
3. I finally got the ring.
4. Inspection for vehicle.
5. Drive back and forth on Louetta looking for Loris mothers work.
6. I'm hungry, give up on finding the work location and head north on 45.
7. Pick up sushi.
8. Propose.

It all worked out, but I definitely would have liked to have spoke with her parents before altering their family in such a manner. It was a nice dinner, even without the crawfish. Looks like I have many more to look forward to. Without a shadow of a doubt, I know it has all worked out this way for a reason, and it is for the best.

Other than bowling, bad luck with dry cleaners (the new cleaner lost all my shirts yesterday), rain, and the occasional tantrum directed at Houston traffic, all is well and I couldn't ask for anything more.

8 dollars? [Jan. 9th, 2007|02:15 pm]
I am typically not one who is known for going to the movie theater. Jarhead had been the last movie I watched in a theatre until last night. I had never been a fan of sitting right next to some funk smellin individual who talks through the movie or the theatre full of preteens who are just there to rub on one another. I personally am now a big fan of the theater that is about the beer. Movie Tavern is where it is at. Movies and beer.
Beer and movies.
Beer and BEER!
Was a rather nice exit from the stigma I had towards theaters.

Lori and I managed once again to run into the dim-witted employee. This employee seems to be at every place of business. From the inefficient worker who is working the toy section of Target who is only in that department because management needs a reason to fire him. Or the guy at Brakes Plus who called me to come remove my rims from my car. To the one last night who asked me how much change I should get back from a $20 after paying $8 to get a ticket. This employee took it even a step further.....she had left the tab for us. I placed money in it explicitly using 1's and 5's for the tip. She brought it all back. Swift as a large rock in a slow moving stream. Entertaining me still this afternoon.

On a side note: Aaron is staying, thankfully. After the math didn't quite add up, the choice had been made. The house shall not be empty. I prefer it that way.

[info]amftx is gone in less than two weeks. He is busy placing everything in order.
I am sure by now he has had enough of my antics. Everything from the hat incident on New Years, to "that is not a room either" episode, I am going to miss him around the house.
2006 ended without incident.
2007 looks to be the most promising.
[info]perfection1144 and I are no longer in a "non-relationship", "non-involved", "non-boyfriend/girlfriend" situation. I am sure there are some people who definitely have some choice words for me, but it matters not. We are both very happy.

Anywho.

A Plan: A proposed or intended method of getting from one set of circumstances to another. They are often used to move from the present situation, towards the achievement of one or more objectives or goals.

I had a 3 year plan when I moved to Houston, but like any good plan, it has changed. Had the plan stayed resolute, I would be in Denver. I probably wouldn't be writing on LJ this morning, if that were the case. There is no longer any time frame to apply to my stay here, one could say, it is indefinite. Plans change, often.

Quick update
Christmas: best ever, I could not have asked for anything more.
Best Buy: Operated by idiots
Work: Still here

Till next time.

Paroled Kevorkian will not assist in another suicide.

I only bring this up due to recent activities in one of my friends' life. Surviving two suicides in two weeks, morality and selfishness have been the basis of conversation.

Some things in life are just not right, fair, and/or understandable. This is one of those things.

Monday is over, right? [Dec. 12th, 2006|11:48 am]
Blurry.
Wednesday..drinking and home at 12:30am....up for work at 4:30am.
Thursday didn't even happen.
Friday I decided I was sick..work tends to do that to me.
Beware the Just Brakes guys...they are idiots. I took my car in to get the brakes done. Aaron picked me up and we ran some errands. The Jackass at Just Brakes calls right when we get home and tells me I need to come get the rims off my car. It took a moment to sink in. This assmonkey is asking me to come do what I am paying him for. He didn't have any issue with my two front tires, but evidentally the rear rims gave him a hard time. They gave him such difficult time he decided he would strip the lugnuts. Not just on one rim, or on just one lug, but all five on each rim.
Common sense escaped this tool.
Aaron drove me back down there, and I took a long look at the damage. Scratched my head a few times trying to figure out what level of intellect it actually takes to do something of this nature. I got my answer when I walked back into the store and asked for the managers name......IT WAS THE SAME ASSHAT WHO DID THE WORK. I then asked for his boss' name and the reply was "Why are you asking?". I guess the past few verbal exchanges with me and his keen ability to smooth out metal with other metal objects were promptly forgotten.
I now remember why I have always done my own work on my vehicles.
This was all a sign. Things definitely had to get better, and did.
Self induced drunken shenanigans. May be best to not ask, the "supposed" pictures are worth a few thousand words alone and may actually exist, but that is not up for question either.
The rest of the weekend was casual and very peaceful.
Sunday night at 1am'ish.
Doorbells, thiefs, and police. The apparent crackhead was definitely desperate. At 6am I wandered out to my car sat down and realized my console was open and there was stuff all over the passenger seat. He made off with my sunglasses...ok..I can handle that. But taking all the change in my car!? He had crossed the line. A few bucks an change, I will be eating Ramen for the next month. It was probably the Just Brakes Manager getting back at me.
Today not being Monday makes it all come together.

I am now determined to make this LJ update a habit.

Many things have happened since the last update.

I successfully removed myself and my belongings from the ghetto. [info]amftx and I have worked out a living arrangement in his new casa. He will now be able to go back to Germany without constant concern for his home. It works out for the both of us. Seems more for me than him, yet I also realize that peace of mind is something that is typically not purchased from WallyWorld. It should all work out.

Since the move, I have stopped working as much. Many weeks consisted of 60 to 75 hours of work. I have cut it back to 45 to 50. Nothing gets finished, my boss asks for weekly status, and she gets the same story every week now, thats only when I show up for the meetings. Despite the organized chaos, I did finish up the fundamentals certification and am now an official Content Management Admin...yeah, I organize data...

I recently was pulled over for the first time in Texas, because of a 75 cent light bulb. Not only did I have liquor and beer thrown on me that night, but we did manage to consume a few as well. To make this even more interesting, I have not yet changed my address on my drivers license, my new insurance card was in my laptop bag, and my inspection sticker expired in August. Including those small items, I was given the roadside as well. I failed. I failed miserably. Lori has made sure I am aware of how badly I failed. Did I mention I failed?
He let my stupid ass go.
He allowed me to get back into my car and drive the 100 yards to our destination.
I will not be pressing that luck again, any time soon. The next day, Aaron made it a point to turn Cops on the television.

Its the Holidaze. Got Offended? I was listening to the news this morning and this story has left out the main reason. They removed them because "It might offend somone who cannot afford cookies". I guess I need to start making a list of all the items in the Woodlands Mall that must obviously offend me because I cannot afford them all. Something is not quite right with the world today. I like the holidaze..that is what it will be when I am done with the jack and egg nog. Just a circumstancial blur.

Until next time...

How things change~ [Sep. 21st, 2006|10:55 pm]

Australia was cancelled. It ended up that if I was to go, I would not have been coming back. The boss was not for all of that nonsense. I would have been, to a point. I am not sure if I would like living in a country consisting of the decendants of British theives, thugs and straight criminals! ha~

I will be moving soon, to the north side. I am looking forward to it.
amftx...the man.
Now that I wont be living so far from certain individuals, things may not be so odd~

Hasta~

It looks like their may be another war front in the very near future. I am taking a moment out of this already insane Friday to catch up on some news of the week and I ran across this complete ignorance.

It never happened!

In todays society, for someone in his level of authority, I would have to say, a well placed 50 cal round would progress Darwinism just right.

Point and laugh [Nov. 21st, 2005|07:13 am]
In my vast experience related to smoking, and my continually growing common sense, Friday, I decided to change the brand of death I consume. Make sure your index finger is pointing in my direction, now laugh. Let it all out. Those damn things have me so screwed up. I can't say I am sick, I don't have some bacterial mess in my system, I just smoked the wrong cigerettes. Now remember that pointing laugh you just had at my expense, well, this is why I asked for you to releive that urge.....I purchased 15 packs of those damn things. I should know better, I should just quit. meh
